5 Ways to Reuse Your Empties

In honor of Earth Day, and in response to so many of our customer's requests for ways to recycle their Primally Pure jars + bottles, we're giving you 5 ways to reuse your empties. Keep reading for our easy, creative and inexpensive ways to recycle, reuse + repurpose your PP packaging.

PLANT A SUCCULENT

Addicted to our Almond + Vanilla Body Butter? Yeah, we are too. So you might have a few empty body butter jars laying around, just wondering what to do with them. PP body butter and bath salts jars are the perfect size for planting small succulents, baby cactuses and herb gardens!

You can never have too many plants - it’s just not possible. Plants help to purify the air in your home and office space. Plus, surrounding yourself with life-giving greenery has been proven to improve mood and memory, reduce stress and fatigue, and enhance overall well-being. You no longer have to feel guilty about your body butter addiction, it’s helping you plant a garden.

BREAKFAST BOWL

Now you don’t have any excuses to skip the most important meal of the day - no matter how late you’re running. By repurposing your PP jars, you have an easy-to-pack, plastic-free, to-go bowl. Our Sea Soak and Flower Bath jars make the perfect spill-free container to pack your green smoothie and easily fit in your bag. Most mornings our team members show up to the office with their breakfast in a bath salts jar! Whether it’s chia pudding, overnight oats, berry smoothie with collagen or granola + almond milk, these make the most convenient (and kind of cute!) breakfast bowls.

SEA SALT SPRAY

Our workshop is just an hour's drive to the Pacific, but it’s almost impossible for us to take a morning dip and make it back to the office by 9. Maybe someday we’ll try :) In the meantime, we found a simple way to get tousled beach waves + texture while recycling empty PP spray bottles.

Fill your empty Complexion Mist or Everything Spray bottle with warm water and 1TB of epsom salts. Shake until the salt dissolves. Once water has cooled, add 1 tspn of organic jojoba oil to lightly hydrate and 1 tspn of aloe vera gel. Finish with a few drops of your favorite essential oils - we love lemongrass for a fresh, just off the beach scent.

STOP LOSING YOUR BOBBY PINS - OR LIP BALM

Oh girl, we get it. Bobby pins and lip balm always seem to be MIA when we need them most. With all of our different jar + bottle sizes, you're bound to find one that can store your beauty necessities. Throw one in your purse to avoid digging into the abyss of your bag for a bobby pin, keep one on your dresser for when you get ready in the morning and maybe keep one in your car cup holder. Reusing your PP empties can help you stay more organized and prepared in case of a beauty emergency.

REFRESH YOUR ROOM

Get rid of that Febreeze, puh-lease. There’s nothing worse than spraying fake fragrances into the air we breathe. Reuse your PP bottles and make your own non-toxic + refreshing room spray. All you need is distilled water, witch hazel and your favorite essential oils. Try grapefruit, lemongrass or eucalyptus for an uplifting scent or make a more mellow blend for evening with lavender, bergamot or blue tansy.

How have you reused, recycled or repurposed your PP products? We’d love to add your ideas to our list, so leave us a comment below!
